TAMER SAVED.

BY A LIONESS. AFTER MAULING BY LION. LONDON, January 11. Captain Bostock, of Bostock and Wombwell's Circus, was saved from ' death in Leicester by a lioness spring ing upon a lion which had attacked him. He entered the cage' to attend a sick cub, when the lion broke through a partition and started mauling him. The lioness sprang on the lion, and there was a terrific fight, in which the cubs joined their mother, and succeeded in dragging the lion off Captain Bostock, who was able to crawl through the door, badly torn. The fight continued until the animals were separated by the attendants. This is the second time a lioness has saved Captain Bostock.
