FATALITIES.
INFANT’S DEATH. r PALMERSTON NORTH, January 12. s A coronial enquiry was held to-day r at the Courthouse, before Mr A. J. Graham, into the circumstances surrounding the death of the infant illegitimate child of Myrtle Freck, 18 years of age, domestic, of Rongotea. Myrtle Feck gave evidence that the child was too weak at birth to take nourishment, and died three days later. Robert Findlay Aitken, medical practitioner, Johnsonville, gave written evidence that a post mortem examinan tion disclosed that the heart was ra I greatly enlarged and showing congenial tai defects sufficient to cause death. A verdict that the child died fronr natural causes was returned.
