MOTOR MISHAP. WHANGAREI, December 9. Alfred Alexander, aged 22, of Paka’tai, was driving a motor truck when -ne steering gear locked. me truck fell 12ft over a bank. The woman was carried on a stretcher two miles, and down precipitous cliffs and was got aboard safely this morning. Had the weather not been exceptionally favourable, her removal could not have been effected. COLOURED COMEDIAN’S DEATH. NAPIER, December 8. At the inquest on Robert Murray, of the Jazzland Revue Coy., who died suddenly at the public hospital yesterday, the evidence showed that deceased died of heart failure, resulting from peritonitis, and aggravated by an anaesthetic. A verdict was returned accordingly.
