T Harvey, a prosecution witness, who was a room mate in .1922 of one of the three men accused of conspiring to kidnap Alary I’u-kford. said that lie and C. Y. Stephens sought menus to “pick up some easy money.’’ They rejected the idea of kidnapping Pola Negri, because they believed that she did not have enough ransom money, and Jackie Coogan because he was a Court ward. The Pickford plot was thrashed out in 1922, a.id resumed last March.
