RUGBY FOOTBALL
WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. WEEKLY MEETING. The usual weekly meeting of the above executive was held last evening there being present. Messrs A. A. Adams (chair) J. Guy., T. Mclntosh, J. Jardin, E. Dewar, L. Armsrong, G. E. Perkins, T. Ryan and N. \\. Jones (Secretary). It was resolved that a letter of con dolence be sent to Mrs W. F. Massey and family in their sad bcreavemvut, the motion being carried by members standing.
Initjmation was received from the Westland Suh-Union appointing Mr. I). R. Dowell as Westland selector for representative matches A letter was received from the Grey Technical FLgh School requesting the transfer of James Kertji from Cohdcn Club to Technical fourth grade, and it was resolved to point out to the Director of the T.FI.C. that as X,his Union had received o letter from the player himself that ho would rather play in the higher grade, they did not feel inclTiicd ito order tho transfer from the Cobden juniors. It was resolved to give Bai rytown team the loan of jerseys for next Saturday’s fixture.
A request was received from the Inangahuaj Sub-union request.ng a. representative maitjCh with Grey at Reefton on tho 23rd inst. and it was resolved to advise the Sub-union that it was this Union’s decision not *tp play any rep. fixtures at present this season, as it is desirous of having tho senior cup fixtures completed lirst. Referees reports were read and received and a report was made of one i.eam coining into the field ten minutes late and it was decided to write the defaulting chib on the. matter.
An application wa*s received from L. W. J. Morrisey for rc-instatemcnt *,o the Raigby code and it was decided to recommend and forward on to New Zealand Union for consideration. Resolved that the ago limit of a filth grade player be raised to under 16 years on Ist April, ;und to call for nominations for fifth grade competition nominations to dose <»n 'Tuesday evening.
Resolved that in the matter of a request from the Technical <*ld Boys to form a new fourth grade team, to a\sk delegates of United Club to call a meeting of their fourth grade, before next Sunday morning, and find out the position as to these boys and report whether ifti would affect the latter if such new club should bo formed. It was resolved that tho W.C.R U. delegate its power of jurisdiction to me Westland Rugby Sub-union for all senior matches played at Hokitika. T;ti wa*s decided to v.rite the Hawkes Bay and the South Canterbury Rugbv tTnioris to ratify dates of fixtures as arranged with these Unions by delegates while in Wellington. Resolved to call for nominations for seven-a-side 'tournament on 3id June, for all grades from senior to shrimps, same to close on the 26th May. It was decided that the senior com-

At last meeting of tho Management Committee of the Buller Rugby Union, held in Mr Sloe's office, there were present: Messrs T. Phibbs (chair), A. Colvin, B. Davis, A. Thurlow, T. Ryan and V. G. Wimsott (Secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and outward correspondence approved. Inward correspondence was received and dealt with as follows:—
Waimangaroa Poultry Club wrote requesting that junior fixtures bo arranged to be played at Waimangaroa on June 13th.—Resolved that NgakawauUiiited junior fixture bo arranged for ttts date.
A protest from Pirate Club against Star thirds playing a classified junior player on May 2nd, was upheld and match awarded to Pirates; tho Star Club to furnish, information with regard to the age of the player who took part in this match. From Rover Club objecting to playing Senior Shield home fixtures on Sunday, and requesting that the Rival - Rover match set down to be played on 10th inst. be postponed until a pay Saturday. —Request granted and the Rover Club to be requested to furnish an explanation for failing to notify
the Union of their objection to piny furnish reports in connection therewith also that letter be referred to Referees Association for investigation. From Nelson Lhiion asking to exchange dates for tho Wairarapa Representative match. —Secretary’s action in replying that it was impossible to accede to request owing to other representative fixtures being arranged, r .vas endorsed. From New Zealand Rugby Union, calling for nominations of players under the jurisdiction of this Union who eio qualified and available for selection with fullest possible particulars, including age, height and weight. — Secretary’s action in referring matter to Selector was endorsed, also that nom inations be forwarded as early as possible. Suggested date of Seddon Shield match 'with Marlborough was hold over in meantime ponding representative fixtures being drawn up by Permit Com m it toe. Resolved that the Mokihinui Club’s generous offer to assist the Seddon Shield Recovery Fund be accepted with thanks.
A detailed report was handed in by Mr V. Wiijsctt, delegate to the New Zealand Rugby Union’s annual meeting, which was received, and congratulations extended to him on the able manner in which he represented this Union thereat. Resolved that seats occupied on the Management Committee by Messrs A. Dunn and G.
