POWER BOARD

ORDINARY MEETING. MR HART’S TENDER ACCEPTED FOR BOWER HOUSE. An ordinary mccHng of the Grey Power Board (the last of the present Board as at present constituted) was held lust night. Mr 11. F. Doogan, the Chairman, presided over a full attendance of members. 'The Grey Valley Collieries Ltd wrote asking the price the Board intended charging for power. it was derided to notify the public I hat, pending the preparation of rules .-iml regulat ioi\ governing the lirensing of wirrmen, all proposals be sub. mil fed to Ihe Board’s Engineer. It was also derided I hut a register of nil installations be kept. The trader of Mr J. A. Hart, was accepted for the erection of the new power house at. Dobson. The price was £l'.|B9 18s. The only other tender received was that of Mi' W. Williamson al E 5311. The successful tend< red has giia in nt er'l to have the work completed in right weeks. The appointment of Mr’ S. At the conclusion of the < rdinary business the chairman stated that this was the end of the Board’s year, lie read a lengthy statement tracing the progress of the Board since its incep. tion. The policy of the Board had been n careful one in the past, and he trusted that the sam e policy would be ad. opted by their successors. He tender ed his thanks to the other members ■and. th" staff for the assistance they ha<l always given him (the speaker). On the motion of Messrs Baybui. and Carter a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the. chairman and town members for the splendid work they had done. CITIZEN NO AHN ATIONS. The following have been nominated for scats on the Power Board to represent tho 800 ratepayers who petitioned against Hie Board proceeding with the Dobson I’ower Scheme.— Messrs IL Bignell, J. Greensladc and J. O'Brien, ALP. (Greymouth ); IL ; Duggan (Kunanga); and S. Fry (Brunnerton).
