In accordance with instructions the Borough Engineer reported as follows on the two proposals for an hydro-elec-tric schemerScheme N.a. 1. — Mr James McKay *i existing power schemes consisting of 2 proposals, No. 1. — The purchase of his water rights, plant and land at Balcer.'s Orcek. Plant consists of 100 chains of timber framing, li miles of 18in. steel pipes, (in. position), hydraulic nozzles, castings, valves, and pipes of 11 in, 9in, and 7in. diameter enough for about i mile: 50 awes freehold, and 250 aero? special mmmg x claims. A '•o'ljrh sawmill for use with the plant. Workshop containing bonding Tolls, 'irvlintr machine Tivetting baTs forge, iTivil, vico and tools for constructing pries up to 2Mn. diameter. County v«inn.tion £6000. I may state that I sa.w the tpcc <lur'n«r thf> holiday season when most of the water was running in it, the creek having a good volume in it at the intake .of the race. The tank connecting the race to the intake is at an elevation of 600 feet above sea leVel, in working order requiring only the necessary machinery to be put into position to procure electric power.
