CONFERENCE OF LOCAL BODIES.

A conference of delegates of iocal bodies was held in the Council Cinabbers to discuss the possibility of instituting a hydro-electric scheme. Mr D. H. Parfitt (Deputy Mayor) presided over the following delegates: Messrs A. Naylor, H. F. Doogan (Borough Council) F. Williams (Brunner Borough Council), J. Tennent (Patriotic Association), A. V. Billett (Cobden Town Board), W. Gilbert, J. Steer ("Harbour Board), J. Gillies (Public Works Engineer, J. Higgins (County Engineer), W. O'Donncll (Borough Engineer). Tho Deputy Mayor explained that 'hr> (Tr>v>riment Electrical Engineer Mr Berks) would shortly visit and offrr v^noo regarding Mie carrying out of a scheme.
