A CLOSE CONTEST.

[Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, November 25. The 15-Tound professional contest between Havilah Uren'(9.6) and 'Digger" Evans (9.3) was fought in His Majesty's Theatre to-night, before a very large attendance, for a purse of £280. The fight went the full distance, each man showing marked cleverness. Uren had the advantage at infighting, but, Evans evened matters with his tricky footwork. The, points were evenly ' divided, but .the referee's decision in favour of Evans was a popular one.
