Primary Department. The average roll number was 272---boys and 248 girls— total 520. The average attendance was 242 boys and 213 girls— total 455. the average number of absentees was 65. Secondary Department. The average roll number was 2X boys and 27 girls— total 50. The average attendance was 18 boys and 24 girls— total 42. The average number of absentees was S Blaketown. The average number on the roll wns 50 boys and 51 girls— total 101. The average attendance was 45 boys and 44 girls— total 89. The average number of absentees was 32. Miscellaneous. J'Vom Canterbury Education Board notifying the Committee of the resignation of Mrs K. I<\ Whitmore assistant mistress of the High. Schooi, to take effect ( after the re-opening of school after summer holidays. — Received. The Board also wrote asking the Committee's permission for Mr F. J. Wilson and Miss Struthers to attend instruction classes for dairy science at Hokitika from 16th to 21st December and 9th and 14th December. Received and referred to Rector to arrange same. Circulars from the New Zealand Educational Institute and the Manawatu School Committee's Association were read and received. It was moved by Mr Aldridge and seconded by Mr MacJvenzie that a letter be forwarded to the Rector, staff and children for their laudable* efforts in connection with the recent} Coprjer Trail . — Carried .
