RICHARD WHITFORD (Reefton).
There passed, away on Monday evening at the Reef tou Hospital, 'Kichard Whitford, another (and the fourth in one month to join the great majority) of* the rapidly diminishing band of hardy and industrious gold-miners. Deceased was comparatively a young man, he ! entered the gold-mining occupation at a very early age,-: but> .in late years developed "miners' complaint." He was well-known throughout all the mines and of a friendly and kindly disposition. He was a native of Bendigo, and 38 years of age. The > funeral takes place on Thursday, leav- $ ing the Sacred Heart Chapel for the Suburban Cemetery.**
