The final session of the State Parliament was opened by the .governor, Sir Gerald Strickland, with the uiual ceremonies.
The Governor's speech covered the measures outlined in the Hon. W A. K-cinian's speech.
P. announced that' all the pow.-js and precautions: of the •. listing law were being applied to suppress the outbreak of small-pox^ : A bill providing for compulsory ' vaccination would be introduced at <he eai'ies-t moment.
The erection of grain eleva.vs, a proposil oi an underground city railway and vehicular ferry services between Sydney arid -North Sydney -, and the creation of more model suburbs in the metropolitan and country ii-dus* trial centres were also foreshadowed.
