An Alteration in Stamps.

Wellington, May 30. The Postal Department notify that in order to meet the requirements of the Postal Union, as agreed upon at the Washington Convention, it has been decided to alter the colors of the £d, Id and 2sd stamps in use in Now Zealand from an early date. The will be printed in green, the Id in red,, and the 2id in a darker blue. This change is also to- be adopted by the Australian post offices. The colors of the 4d and 6d -stamps will, owing to this change, require to be altered ; but the now colors ha\'e not yet been decided upon.
