BRUNNERTON.
[from our correspondent.]
Brunnerton, July 27. An accident happened this morning about half-past 10 in the Brunner mine. It appears that a trucker named Martin Dunn, whilst in the act of putting atruck? on the line slipped, which caused him to; stumble and fall under the truck, which" dragged him about three chains before assistance arrived. Fortunately the in-' juries are slight, though it Is a miracle KSi was not killed. He was immediately taken? to his residence, wkere Dr M'Carthy was' quickly in attendance and found the patient suffering from a severe : wound on the hip and injuries to thespine. Dr Smith*, was telegraphed for as soon as the accident^ happened to meet Dunn at the station, but the injuries not being considered serious . enough, his friends declined to send him there. In the- meantime Dr M'Carihy, who was of course in attendance in a few minutes, did all that was necssary in the circumstances for the welfare of the patient, who, when this •was -written, was doing as well as could be expected, and was tolerably easy. Dunn said he felt much relieved after the doctor's treatment.
