Dunedin, Dec. 9. The prospectus of the Otago Hemp Rope Company has been issued ; capital, . LISOO, in 300 shares. The Sydney and{San Francisco mail has not been much availed of. The submarine boat for gold working has been launched, i It is authoritatively stated that railway workshops will shortly be erected here. One hundred and twenty-three nominations for immigrants have been sent home to Scotland by the last San Francisco mail. 8000 acres of land have been get apart under the deferred payment system. Wellington, Dec. 9. The master painters have consented to compromise at eleven shillings, being an advance of one shilling ,on the rate of wages hitherto. The strike is considered over.
