. *—- Mr. ■W. Barrington Miller, who' revis ted. the Dominion last summer, has safely returned to London. Long considered one of Britain j outstanding newspaper writers, Sii John Foster Fraser, who passed < n isg, London last month, left a strong imprint on world journalism. It had recently been claimed that he had more than 3,000,000 readers evetv Sunday. In 1918 Sir .John participated in the Liberty Loan Drive in the United States. He bad previously been knighted and was the first woiking journalist to be knighted by Lie King. Sir John once described his ideal newspaper as one that would not play up crime and would have very littlo to do with famous law suits, very little to do with the private lives ot actresses, and with the “bad side of human life—and a great deal to f, u with the beautiful and with the good things in the world.

The leader of the Samoan Man, the Hon O. V. Nelson, boarded the Maui Pom’aro at Wellington yesterday on his return to Apia. In a farewell message. he said that he would do whatever he cifhld to bring about a lasting and amicable settlement. It might be necessary lor both .‘ides to practice a little give and take, but thiire would certainly be a better understanding in the :uture.
