EAST COAST-PUBLICITY.
COMBINED SCHEME BOROUGH COUNCIL TO PARTICIPATE With the idea of enlisting the practical support of the Borough Council in a booklet describing and deputing the attractions of the East Coast, Mr W. Peterson, of Rotorua, waited on the Borough Council last evening. Mr Peterson said the proposal had been approved by the Chambers of Commerce in Gisborne. Napitr, Wairoa. and Opotiki. The idea was to publish a booklet of 48 pages featuring the East Coast, and its scenery, etc., with running comment's and attractively written letterpress. Trips would be set out from Rotorua to Napier via different routes, but Gisborne would be included in all those routes. The issue would be 20,000 copies. The Nap’cr Chamber of Commerce had: been in touch with the Tourist Department, and the speaker proceeded to 'Wellington and saw those in charge, with the result that the Government has agreed to send a camera, man through the East Coast district. In Napier the sum of £2OO had been raised towards the project and Wairoa had agreed on £l2O. The total cost would be £OOO for the 20,000 copies, widen worked out at £ls a page. After Mr Petersen had retired ’t was decided, on the motion of the Mayor, that the Council should take a page at £ls.
