WORK ON S.l. M.T. RAILWAY. 1000 MEN WILL BE ON JOB BEFORE END OF YEAR. (Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 3. Ono thousand men will be working on the completion of the South Island main trunk railway between Parnassus and Wharanui before the end of this year, according to a statement by the Minister for Public Works tonight. Work on the line will start immediately, the first task being the construction of main headquarters camps at Parnassus on the south and at Clarence river on the north. The Minister indicated that the job would require practically all new plant.
