RISING PRICES
MR. SAVAGE AGAIN THREATENS.
SOONER CASES ARE BROUGHT THE BETTER!
(Press AssociationV. WELLINGTON, July 3
When his attention was drawn to statements concerning the rising of prices op commodities attributed to the Government’s recent legislation, the Prime Minister said information was coming to him from many quarters on this question. “It seems to me,” said Mr. Savage, “from advices already to hand that the sooner someone finds himself before the Magistrate’s Court the better it will be because then everybody will know where, they .are. The Government is determined that the benefits we set out to give the people are received by the people. We are not going to have our efforts destroyed by those who are not prepared to play the game. I believe most of the manufacturers and business men are anxious to help and will do the rig at thing, but the position is made more difficult by some people who are prepared to sacrifice everybody in order to get some advantage for themselves.
“That.” he added, “is the reason why the whole question is under consideration at the present time by myself and tlio. Minister for Industries and Commerce.
