OUR READERS’ OPINIONS

IN REPLY TO “ANTI-SNIPER’’

(To the Editor)

Sir, —I read u’M.h much amusement tlie letter signed “Anti-Sniper” which attempts to whitewash our present Coalition Government. Is lie- blind that lie cannot see that their every move has served to accentuate the depression. 'First the .wages cut, then the wages tax, the reductions in pensions, the raising of the exchange, the abolition of the Arbitration Court, ami its many other impossible schemes io got us out of our Troubles If a government with the record or the Eorbes-f’oates variety does not deserve tho wholehearted condemnation of “Anti-Sniper" and everybody else, it would he interesting to know how many bricks this correspondent would like thrown at him before lie ceases to shout his approval. He views .with alarm a possible increase in the Labor vote. Surely il is clear ihat, before things improve, -:t- has to he possible for the masses to consume the products of industry and the only party which is working towards Hint <»lid is the much-abused Labor parly. Beyond question. “ A uti-Pniper” is not feeling the pinch as much as many thousands- of unfortunates an New Zealand, or his views would change, rapidly. Finally, allow mg> to wax poetic ns “AnU-Snipor” did, and quote Kipling: Thg toad beneath the harrow knows Exactly where each tooth-point goes. The butterfly upon the mad Breaches contentment to the toad. 1 am. Yours etc.. ' PROGRESftIYE TTJORGITT’ ’
