The Daily Mail's -City editor says English investors m local New Zealand loans are awkwardly placed owing to Now Zealand’s .reduction of 20 per cent, from interest coupons at a -rale of over 4.1 per cent, which applicable il any interest was paid prior to January 1.
Apparently the bonds, which are paid interest in Now Zealand, have been sold in London, buyers being unaware of the above disability. Stockbrokers are asking Sir Thomas Wilford to obtain a- ruling, hoping that the justice °f Uio claim will bo recognised.'. They also desire an assurance that the bonds are redeemable ini sterling, and not Nc'Zealand currency.-
