MISSING CAR TRACED BY

Co-operation between the police and' the South Taranaki Auto Association resulted in the smart recovery on Friday evening of a car missing from Hawera. The car was reported missing at 10.40 and a broadcast was arranged by the secretary to the association at 10.50. Ten minutes l alcr .- advice was received that the car had been' found abandoned. at Wanganui. On- Saturday morning the Wanganui police advised that two men had cnbt r-ao-cd a taxi to proceed "to" FRWera A "watch was kept at the.; bridge at South Hawera, with the" res ult.. that the travellers by the taxi, Oswald Roy Willocks, and lan Frederick Kirk'were arrested and charged laterbefore • Justices- with converting tp - their own ’ use a car yaluec ,at £975 They were remanded ou bail ofi £SO each.' ]■
