Holes in on© have been conspicuous by their absence' hitherto during the present -• _Bay 'season, but a start has now been mad© with emphasis, for tho feat was performed orLTbursday liist and again yesterday. C. H. Wells and M. Steineke were responsible and, no d'oubt, the timehonored custom will be observed.
Steineke’s hole in one yesterday was particularly remarkable, foa the shot was luckily converted from an out of bounds one into a perfect one. Playing 'in a friendly game, Steineko dtove to the ninth, a practically "blind” hole of about 180 yards. He Sent away *a screamer but tlio ball was heading out of bounds when it struck the boundary fence, ricochettod ion to the -green and! trickled into the hole.
Weils performed the feat on Thursday, in the course of a friendly game w'hen (playing the 11th hole, of 140 yards.

Tho usual medal and bogey matches were, played at the links on Saturday under ideal .conditions I- Brainwell was in good form, winning the bogey match and tying for first place in the medal round.
