Press Association) THAMES, May 20. The Zeehan ’battery at Waiomio, on the Thames coast, was completely destroyed by fire at 4 o’clock this morning. The out creak is thought to have originated in a c °al hopper. Forty men are worldess. The plant, completed three years ago at a cost of £20,000 to £30,000, was to have resumed crushing to-day. The insurances are not available.
