WAIPTRO BAY TENNIS OPENING

(Special To The Times)

The Waipiro Bay Tennis Club .hold tho official opening -on Thursday, in glorious weather. Five courts were in continual use all the afternoon, and visitors were present from Rua(oria. Tokomarti Bay, Te Puia, and other districts. The large gal liering was entertained at afternoon tea on the grounds, by the Waipiro ladies, and was greatly appreciated. The tennis courts are in good playing condition and some interesting games were contested. TENNIS CLUB DANCE Following the official opening of the Waipiro Bay Tennis Club, a dance was held in the Waipiro School and attracted a considerable number of people, from all parts. A varied and interesting programme was arranged for dancing to the lively music of Airs W. Aupouri. A delicious supper was served by the ladies. The duties of M.C. were in the capable hands of Messrs Jensen and Lunken.

AlcGonagle, F. -Bennett, .L. Lunken, AI. Williams, F. Stevenson, F. Smythe, A. Allen. PERSONALS Rev. and Airs. J. J. Anderson, Waipiro Bay, have returned home after a lengthy holiday in Rotorua and Auckland. 31 * * ABsses K. and AI. Keany and Alt. W. Keany, Gisborne, who have been thd guests of Airs. G. Neill, Tokomaru Bay, returned home today. # * * Airs. T. G. Lawless, Gisborne, has been visiting friends in Tokomaru Bay. ■ - Jfe Aliss Stella Chapman, Gisborne, was a visitor to Tokomaru Bay for the tennis opening. * * * Mr. and Airs. D. Smaill, Gisborne, are the guests of Airs. Joe Oates, Tokomaru Bay. •
