Tho Morning Post expresses the hope that the Air Ministry’s proposals will not load to an extension of State control of -civil aviation, which at •present is developing rapidly and naturally out of control. Air-Commander Samson, one of tho most "famous war personalities and pioneers of British naval flying, has been restored to full pay from Octolar 1. There was surprise in 1927 when he was placed ' on half - pay, though he was then only 44 years of age. It is explained’ that no post was then available. The Germans in war time offered £IOOO reward for his capture, alive or dead. MUNICIPAL AERODROME NEAR MANCHESTER, (British OfHo.io.l Wireless.) • RUGBY. Oct. 31. Manchester Corporation to-day sanctioned the erection of a municipal aerodrome at. Chatmoss, near tho city. It was only yesterday that the. Air Ministry issued a circular letter to Iho big towns in the provinces inviting them to consider the advisability of establishing-municipal aerodromes with a view to assisting the development of civil aviation.
