CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (Press Association.; PALMERSTON N., Oct. 31. To-day was judging day at the fifth RoyaJ Show,, when a splendid array of pedigree stock: was presented to the judges. The weather conditions are showing an improvement, and a large attendance is expected. Additional championship awards are: Tamworth hoar.—D. and S. Ross, To Puke. Reserve, Bird Bros., Oroua Downs. Sow.—D. and S. Ross. Reserve, Bowen and Wilson, Hastings. Large black boar.—D. and S. Ross Reserve, E. P. Nielson, Tiakitahuna. Sow.—E. P. Neilsoii. Reserve, Central Development Farm, Weraroa.
English Leicester, in wool, ram and ewe.—Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; reserve, Sir D. McLean. Border Leicester, in wool, all championships.—G. V. Pearce,. Waiotara.
Shorthorn hull.—A. Johnstone’s (Palmerston South) Bushy Park Augustus Hero; reserve, A.. Johnstone’s Bushy Park Lavender Royal. Shorthorn cow.—Arch. McLean’s (Hastings) Green Hill Lady Flora LOth; reserve, A. McLean’s Green Hill Royal Duchess 14th. Mr Johnstone’s Bushy Park Augustus Hero won the New Zealand Shorthorn Society’s cup for the best Shorthorn, male' or female, registered in the society’s herd book, and also the cup -for the best pedigree Shorthorn bull presented by the Shorthorn Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
