TARANAKI OILFIELDS LTD. It is claimed that a notable feat in mining was performed by the field staff of Taranaki Oil Fields, Ltd., in recovering the whole of tho 360011. of casing front the company’s No. 1 bore at Gisborne after a hi oak had occurred all a depth of oGOlt. Such mishaps often lead to the bore being abandoned, together with the casing in it. Drilling is to be continued, with G|in. casing because officials of- the company are hopeful that they ape nearing oil sand, the existence of which was indicated by a geological examination of the field. remaining to be treated is regarded by the company’s experts as one of much promise.
