(Special to the Times.) AUCKLAND, oco. 22. The policy of the New Zealand Fruit Board for the coming year Will Be discussed in Wellington this Week, the chief representatives being Mr H. E. Stephens, representative W London of the Board, who arrived from England • by the Karamea on Saturday, and Mr W. T. Goodwin, the Board’s-representative in "South America, who arrived at Wellington from San Francisco to-day. At the conclusion of the conference, the representatives will return to their respective posts. Mr Stephens has taken to Wellington with him a report dealing with the past season in Great Britain and the future (prospects of trade. Discussing the season he- said Nlqw Zealand apples were the best packed of those obtainable in Britain. There was still room for improvement, but the efforts of + " Board were making themselves felt. The new case introduced two years ago had effected a change for the better and New Zealand apples had arrived in England in- prime condition. Mr Stephens mentioned that iii his opinion, New Zealand was sending to England too many varieties of apples, and there was a .chance of .some of the lesser known varieties being neglected. The most popular were Cox’s, Grannie Smith. Jonathans. Stunner, Statesman, Delicious and Dunns. Recently Mr Stephens spent some time in Sweden and lie considers there is a good onening for New Zealand apples in that country
