A large motor-car plunged into the harbor early this morning. 11. Reynolds. of Manly.' who was rescued, made conflicting statements indicating that a man and a woman, who were passengers, sank with the oat hi 17ft. of water, but the police have been unable to trace the bodies, although the headlights of the car remained alight ,I'or a long time, lighting lip the water, and a harbor bed search is continuing. Reynolds is in a bad way.

The man rescued from the sunken motor-car this morning is C. G. Hessiou, :t city business man and the owner of the car, not Reynolds. When the vehicle was lifted there was no sjign of the ether supposed occupants. The man Reynolds,whose nanuv was mentioned in connection with the affair, says'that he knew nothing about it till, he road it in the papers. The police are unable., owing, to Hussion-s reticence, to .account for the accident.
