PATUTAHI NOTES.
A “liard-up” social was held at the Patutalii Hall on Friday evening last and was a most successful function in every way. Tho dresses liad evidently been tho subject of much thought and the judges, Mr and Mrs J. Hall, had a difficult task. Prizes were allotted as follows:—Miss Irene Maloney and Mr R. Gillman. Kirk’s orchestra supplied delightful music while extras were played by Mrs Croats, and Misses Atkins and Sar•gant. ' On Saturday night a children s fancy dress ball was held and was a brilliant success. Seldom if ever has the hall been so gay with color and the children had a very happy time. Those in fancy dress were as follows: —Lora Walker, Red White and Blue ; Molly Ellmess. Red Riding Hood; Hilda Atkins, Runaway Girl, Clara Bilham, Stars and Stripes; Miriam Worsnop, Japanese, Muriel Allen, Ace of Clubs, Hope Doleman, Peat Rose, Olive Young Geisha Girl, Edna Worsarp, Japanese,' Margaret Cooper, Bluebell, Effie Ballard, Peat Rose, Margaret Bilham, Sailor Boy, Amy Ritchie, Fairy, Katie Gedya, Girl Scout. Hazel Ballard, Forget-me-not, Greta Grimes, Cupid, Gladys El-lnvers, Japanese, Jean© Mans on, Tambourine Girl, Eileen Butler, Eileen A Hannah, Norma and Lilian Bryson, Weldon’s Fashions, Phyllis Worsnop, Persian Dancer. The judges, Mrs Rawnsley and Mr McConigal, had a most difficult task in allotting the prizes, . which were awarded as follows.—(Girls) : Winnie East I, Elsie Ellmiss 2; Boys: John Thodv 1, Robert Allen 2. Special prizes donated and judged by Mrs J. Hall were awarded to Phyllis Worsarp and John Tliody. The music for the dance ’ was supplied hv Miss Atkins.—Special. •
