DEATH OF BURIED MINER. Y DUNEDIN, Oct. 6. James O’Rourke, one of the miners buried by fall of coal in Kaitangata mine on Tuesday, succumbed this morning to his injuries, Deceased was a single man, aged 51. He was buried for 16 hours before being extricated. POUND DEAD ON ROAD. WANGANUI, October ,6. A "man named Peter McKinnon, aged about 40 years, was.found dead on the roadside at Kakatahi yesterday. The deceased had been working in the, locality for about four days and previously had been a I'esident of Raotihi.r—P.A. Prompt settlement on the spot.
