MOTOR VEHICLES.

SUGGESTED AMENDMENT IN LAWWELLINGTON, October 6. The registration of motor vehicles was discussed at a sitting of the conference of the Municipal Association. Mr Bellringer (New Plymouth), moved that the Motor Regulation Act be amended to provide that all registrations of motor vehicles be renewed annually. The remit was carried. The following motion by Mr G- M. Luckie (Wellington) was carried: “That this conference while approving generally of the principles of the Motor Vehicles Bill is opposed to those provisions which provide that registration and license fees payable thereunder are to be paid to the general Government and urges that the Bill should be amended to provide that a due proportion of such fees, commensurate with the actual amount© expended on streets and roads within their boundaries, should be paid to th-e local bodies. —P.A.
