WEDDING
R E DEATH—MORTLEM AN. A quiet but pretty wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised at St. Luke’s Church, Waerenga-a-hika on Wednesday, October 9, the contracting parties being Misti Mary I. (Winnie) Mortleman, eldest daughter of Mr A. Mortleman, Makauri, and Dr George Red-path, third son of Mrs Redpath, Bakauroa. The bride, who was'given away by her father, looked charming in a dainty frock of white crepe dp cliene, and wore the customary bridal veil and orange blossoms-. She .carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses and maiden hair fern. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Lorna Mortleman. sister of the bride, was daintily attired in Saxe blue georgette with a becoming liat of black and white tulle. She carried a handsome bouquet of sal-mon-pink roses and asparagus fern. Miss Charlotte Redpath. sister of the bridegroom, also attended tho bride. She was prettily attired in white frosted voile relieved with blue, with a white and blue hat to match. She carried a pretty bouquet of white and blue hyacinths and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was capably supported by Mr Noel Bull, of Gisborne, as best man. The marriage ceremony was performed by tho Rev. E. Ward, of Waerenga-a-liika. After the ceremony the. reception was held at Mr Mortleman’s ■ residence, Makauri. Later in the afternoon, amidst showers of confetti and good, wishes, the liappy connle left overland for Rotorua and Tauranga where tlieir honeymoon is to be spent.
