MANGAPAPA TOWN BOARD.
LAST NIGHT’S MEETING
A meeting of the Mangapapa town Board was held last night, Air W. J. AlcCliskie (chairman) presiding. There were also present: C. Alatthews, T. Howarth, E. Grundy and W. H. Sharpin. .Apologies were received for the absence of Messrs J. R. Redstone and C. A. Fenwick.
A letter was read from Air G. P. Reid, complaining of cows having broken his hedge.—lt was stated that the matter should be placed in the hands of the Board’s solicitors for the necessary legal steps to be taken. A letter was received from Mr C. Taylor asking for a rebate of rates on a house which had been destroyed by fire. —It was decided to grant the request. A letter was received from the secretary of the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board asking for the final contribution to the levy for the current year.—This was passed for payment. A letter was received from Air F. C. 'Hay, forwarding plans and estimates or three Alangnpapa bridges—for the purpose of estimating proposed loans for their replacement. Advice was received from the Treasury Department stating that £l2 had been placed to the Board’s account representing fees and fines for the quarter ending June 30. Building permits representing £625 were issued for .the month. Accounts amounting to £lO3 Ss 4d were passed for payment.
