TOLOGA BAY NOTES

TOLOGA BAY, April 15. Mr and Mrs Caldwell, who have liveci at Doonholm for many years, have decided to take up their residence permanently in Gisborne, Mr Caldwell having disposed of his estate to his sons. Mr and Mrs Caldwell will be greatly missed in Tologa Bay, for their kindness and generous hospitalitv was extended to one and all. The Committee of the Horticultural Show lose valuable members in tlie Misses Caldwell, they having taken a very active part in all the flower shows, etc., and sincerely hope that Mrs Caldwell, who has been in indifferent health for some time, will soon recover, and that both she and her husband will he spared to make many trips to the old homestead at Doonholm.

The meeting convened for Thursday lose to discuss ways and means of raising money for the Red Triangle was well attended. Mr Parr occupied tlie chair. It was proposed to hold a cricket matcli in the Domain on the afternoon of April 25, and a dance, is to be held in Reynolds’ Hall the same evening. A strong committee of ladies and gentlemen were appointed io work up the dance, Mr Morton kindly agreeing to act as secretary. It was also proposed to ask the Reynolds’ Hall Committee if they would allow the proceeds of the pictures on Saturday. April 27, to go towards swelling the funds of the Y.M.C.A. Trench Fund.

The young ladies of Tologa are working ijs a cricket match for next playing the gent’s, the latter to wear skirts. A small chargo. is to be made sThursday, which is causing no little excitement; the young ladies are at the Domain gate. The proceeds to go towards the Y.M.C.A. fund.
