MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

COAST SESSION-3. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.' WAIPIRO BAY, Nov. 4. The quarterly sittings of the Magistrate’s Court took place at Waipiro Bay on the Ist. 2nd and 3rd inst,. Mr R. Stone Floranco being the presiding Magistrate. In attendance were Messrs. Graham, Hei, Kane, Mead, and Mr. Dalton, Native interpreter. Four first offenders < barged with drunkenness were eacin.c f nvicted and fined 5s and costs. - _ Norman Anderson, charged with using obscene language at Waipiro, was convicted and fined £2 and costs.' Mr. Kane appeared for the defendant.

Terrance McKenna, charged with being drunk while in _ charge of a horse, was fined 10s and costs. Stanley Conway, charged with, furiously riding a horse at Token-nil Bay,’ was fined £2 and -osts. Ernest Tidy, charged _ with _using obscene language, was fined £5 and costs. Mr. Graham appeared for defendant. . Paora Tewera and Harry Waite were each convicted and fined £2 10s and costs for aiding and abetting the commission of an offence, to wit, the supplying of liquor to natives. Renata Moeke, charged with assault at Manutahi, was fined £5 and costs. Piripi Kaiwaru. charged with assault and obscene language, was fined £3 and costs. Mr. S. Hei appeared for defendant. Sidney lvopua, charged with disturbing a picture entertainment at Tokomaru Bay, was convicted and fined 20s and costs. Joe Williams was charged with obtaining 5s by false pretences. As the defendant was only a youth, ho was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon and ordered to pay costs. Decision was reserved in the case of John Williams, charged with supplying liquor to natives in a prohibited area.
