Tlie prevailing method of distributing charitable aid was referred to at the Hospital Board last night by Air Humphreys, who inquired as to \vhat bad happened to the relief committee. The directors of the Te Araroa Sheepfarmers’ Co-operative Trading Co., Ltd., of Te Araroa, have decided to instal the piost up-to-date system io handle their business transactions, and with this object in view have placed an order with t-lie local agent of the National Cash Register Company (Air J. P. Lavin) for one of their latest model multiple-drawer registers. David Hawkins, hotel, Te Araroa, Alessrs Williamson and Alathias, of Cape Runaway, Alessrs Oates Bros., and F. Snowden, of Tokomaru Bay, have also placed orders for the latest model electric multiple-drawer register. The sound of the Cash Register bell is very familiar to Gisborne shoppers, as nearly all the Gisborne shops are equipped with this wonderful mechanical cashier. The following are some of the Gisborne storekeepers who have recently installed the latest model register:— Arthur Rees, ironmonger; Tlios. Adams, bookseller and stationer; A. W. J. Mann, chemist and optician; Clare and Sons, Ltd., caterers.; E. Chrisp and Son, music warehouse; Robert Robertson, mercer and outfitter; Alex. Thomson, nurseryman and seedsman : D. S. Thompson, produce dealer; J. Sealey, grocer; J. F. Pettiu, Masonic Hotel (2); Sydney Woodberry, fruiterer; Clias. Frgusson, fruiterer; and others. Mr Lavin is leaving for Wellington, but a post card to tho N.C’.R, Co., 32 Cuba Street, Wellington, will bring any information desired.
