FATE OF “DOLLY DIMPLES.”

Miss Jessie Lillian May Beesley, telephone operator in the Hotel Angelus, and widely known among her friends as “Dolly Dimples” because of her particular style of 'beauty, has become tlie bride of a young St. Paul millionaire in San Bernardino. It was an unceremonious elopement, and the young woman’s mother did not know of it until she received a telegram announcing the facts. The groom is E. W. Chaffee. He went to New York two months ago after the arrest of J. A. Oaddingan, the alleged gold-bricik swindler, who is charged! with having flimflammed the elder Chaffee out of 25,000 dollars. The son made positive identification, but Caddigan disappeared and is supposed to have committed suicide. Chaffee stayed at the Angelus, and soon did more telephoning than any other .guest, and l apparently obtained perfect service. _ .Not long ag® his mother joined him and she returned East a day or two later. The son to accompany her, but he insisted that he must remain to attend to prinext day Cliaffee and “Dolly Dimples’” disappeared. She is the daughter of a local realty man and is 19 years of age. Chaffee’s father io a grain operator.
