Probably the greatest association of its kind in the world is now in process of formation, the capital being two millions sterling, and tlie scene ot operations scattered over Canada, tlie united States, England, Australia, and South Afric. The Australian side of the business is in the hands of Mr. J. D. Williams, who leaves on Monday tor America, and the necessary capital has already been promised. The Australian theatres of the present J. D* \\illiaxns Company will be run in conjunction with the new enterprise. A board of censors will inspect and -pass all the pictures, which are to be exhibited, as is done for the Edison Company in New York Mr. Williams points out that he was the first to institute the censor idea in Australia, having got the education authorities to approve of his pictures before projection. "With a view to arranging details for tlie Australian section, and to secure the latest scientific improvements for photo, plays, Mr Williams will visit America, England, France. Germany, and Austria, returning again via America five months lienee. A feature of the tour is the prominence which will be given to Australia in all the advertisements, for which spaces have been secured in the American papers. Mr. "Williams intends to auvvltise Australia in the Republic, and to that end has secured a splendid collection of Australian photographs, which will bq judiciously placed in the big centres of America, “I’m going to show that Australia is a place worm looking to as a- likely land to come to,” said Mr. Williams.
