A RECORD ENTRY FOR THE DOAIINION. United Press Association —Copyright MASTERTON. Feb. 18. The Alasterton show opened to-day. Rain commenced to fall in the afternoon, and continued for a short period. The entries arc a record in the history of the Association, being over 1800. ' the largest entries _ received for any show in the Dominion. The class of stock all round was good, cattle and Romneys apd Lincolns being particularly good. Championships were won as follows: Romneys, ewe W.* B. Allen, ram E. Short; Lincolns, ram Bland ltayner, ewe W. Perry; Border -Leicesters, ram G. Sievers, ewe Slack Bi os.; Southdowns, ram and ewe E. Short; English Leicesters, ram AV. Perry, ewe W. Perry; Shropshire.?, ram Seth Smith; Shorthorn, bull Trustees D. AlcAlaster, heifer estate John Denm; thoroughbred stallion, C. AlcCullough’s Porirua.; Hereford, cow AlcGregor, bull G. F. Aloore; Jerseys, bull P. Hunter, cow AV. Hand and A. E. Booth; pigs, boar S. R .Lancaster, sow T. P. Lett; Tamworth, boar AV. Morris, sow, J E. AVliite; Yorkshire, boar E. AV. AA r ilson, sow J. E.
