A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that 'Mr. C. H. Bourke, Gisborne, was one of the successful candidates at the recent dental examination. On Thursday morning Miss K. Farrell, daughter of Mr. J. Farrell. Thames, and a sister of Mrs. J. J. Fry, Gibsorne, was married by the Rev. Father Lane, at the Catholic Church, to Mr. A. W. Williamson. son of Mr. Alexander Williamson, of Wellington. The bride was given away by 'Mr. J. J. Fry. Misses Ella Fry. E. Parker, and liinnimont acted as bridesmaids, and Mr. H. Ivinnimont as best man. After tbe ceremony a number of friends partook of a wedding breakfast at Mr. J. J. Fry’s residence. His Lordship the Bishop of Waiapu arrives from tlie South this morning. To-morrow at Te A-rai Church he will ordain a number of students of Te Ran College. Yesterday his Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. Town ley) celebrated bis seventieth birthday. Mr. H. Powell has been temporarily appointed as assistant master at the Gisborne School. At the last meeting of Lodge Tu■ranganui, U.A.0.D., reference was ■made to the severe loss tbe Lodge had sustained through the death of Bro. C. A. Nield. who liad been a Past District President of the Lodge. A letter was received from Court William Gladstone. A.0.F.. sympathising with the Lodge in its loss. It was decided that a letter expressing the Lodge’s sympathy be forwarded to Bro. Nield’s widow. The Lodge then adjourned out of respect to the deceased’s memory.
