Sir Benjamin Baker, consulting engineer to the Egyptian Government, has been made a Commander of the Bath, and the Grand Cross of St. Michael and St. Georgo has been conforred on Sir W. E. Garstin. Under-Secretary for Public Works in Egypt, both prominently connected with the construction of the Assouan dacu.
