In the course of the discussion in the Legislative Council on the Shop and Shop Assistants Hill a lively incident occurred. The Hon. Sliriniski, in reply to a remark made by the Hon. Jones, said: “ If there is a sweater in the country that lion, gentleman (the lion, Jones) is one.”
The lion. Jones moved that tlie words be taken down, which was done. Mr Shrimski declined to withdraw the words, and the matter was reported to tlie
Speaker. Mr Shrimski still declined to withdraw, and on the motion of Hun. \V. C. Walker the C 'ouncil passed a resolution of censure on the Hon. Shrimski, and suspended him for the remainder of to-day's sitting.
