ALLEGED THEFT.

ACCUSED HAVE A SECRET CAMP,

SUFFICIENT PROVISIONS FOR TWO YEARS.

[By Tcegraph—Press Association.] Nelson, last night. On Tuesday a young man named Howard, aged eighteen years, was apprehended in town, and to day another young man named Albert Walker, aged JO, was arrested in very wild country at the head of the Pelorous Valley. It is alleged that for several months accused have been committing thefts of provisions, tools, etc., and packing them to the back country, when they were supposed to be prospecting. Constables Kemp and Durbringe have been out since Monday after them, and one day they walked over fifty miles of rough country. The accused had two camps, and it is stated they had sufficient stores for nearly two years. The constables ellected a very clever capture of Walker at the secret camp in the heart of the mountains, and about thirty miles from Nelson.
