PIONEERS’ REUNION.

Auckland, last night. To-day is the 59th anniversary of the arrival of the emigrant ships Jano Gifford and Duchess of Argyle. The colonists by these and the preceding vessels, together with their descendants, held their annual reunion to-day. A commemoration service was held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, there being a crowded congregation, including a large number of the pioneer settlers. Interesting addresses were delivered by the clergy of various denominations and others, and most interesting meetings were held during the dav.
