LORD ROSEBERY ON LIBERALISM

DECLARES THE CLEAVAGE COMPLETE. By Tolegrapk—Press Association—Copyright London, July 17. A remarkable letter has been received by the City Liberal Club from Lord Rosebory, who declared that he would never voluntarily re-enter party politics. Tho cleavage of .the party, ho said, was permanent. It was not possible to unite it by phrases. The evolution of the Empire and Imperial feeling, he said, produced irreconcilable divergencies. Tho wholo Empire rallied when there was war, but tho Liberals took an impossible attitude of neutrality. An open iniud spolt impotence. “ WRECKING COUNSELS.” DAILY MAIL’S ADVICE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, July 17. Thu Dally uigus the Liberals not to listen to Lord Rosebery's “ wrecking counsels.”
