APPEAL COURT.
decisions deserved. Bv Telegraph —Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Appeal Court reserved judgment in the Bannatyne ease in which the Crown resists repayment of poll-tax, .£3O, for three Chinese who deserted from the ludralema. In the case Macarthv and another v. Barnett, the point involved was the right of the Wellington Racing Club to exclude bookmakers or others from the Hutt racecourse, and the validity of the case under which the stewards hold the course. It is claimed by the Club that the case is distinguishable from the Christchurch Jockey Club case, as the terms under which the lease is held are different. Judgment was reserved.
