THE DUKE'S APPRECIATION
By Telegraph—Tress Association. Wellington, last night. The Commissioner of Tehee lias reeeivcil from the Minister for Justice a letter sent by the Governor, in which His Excellency states that lie lias been commanded by the Duke of Cornwall to convey to the Minister his appreciation of the police service during his visit to New Zealand. His Highness says that the police service throughout the colony was most satisfactory, and was performed with conspicuous tact- and judgment.
