THAMES NEWS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Thames, last night. Fred Coleman, walking from a country district to the Thames, ahead of two horsemen, was seen to suddenly throw up his hands and sink to the ground. Others rushed forward to assist him. Upon reaching Coleman they found that ho was dying. The body has been brought to the Thames, awaiting an inquest. The cause is supposed to be heart disease. A general exodus has set in. Threo hundred Natives have left for Botorua. The steamers to Auckland are crowded. One hundred and fifty volunteers and bands leave on Sunday for Auckland to take part in the Royal reception. It is expected that fully three thousand will leave here by Monday. The fire escape appliances of hotels here have been examined, and the polico report to the licensing bench to-morrow. Improvements are to bo effected. '
